No occasion is too small, or too grand
I’m a one-person cake maker working out of my small home kitchen. Weddings, birthdays, engagements, a Tuesday that needs cheering up — every cake is designed with you and baked to order.
A small kitchen, on purpose
I take a handful of cakes each week so every one gets my full attention — mixed, piped and finished by hand at home.
Designed with you
Send a photo, a colour or just the vibe. We’ll settle the flavour, size and finish together before I quote.
Ready on your date
If your date is already full I’ll tell you honestly and straight away, rather than leave you waiting.
Made for real Christchurch celebrations
Every cake here left my kitchen for someone’s day. Yours can look nothing like them — these are a starting point, not a menu.
Four-tier wedding, red roses
Textured buttercream, hand-piped florals, fresh roses and gypsophila.
Butterfly garden, two tiers
Wildflower meadow in sugar paste — a favourite for christenings and baby showers.
Double heart, blush
Two hearts, piped roses and pearls, with a name written on the board.
Vintage Lambeth, roses and sage
Old-fashioned swags and shells piped in Swiss meringue buttercream.
Macaron and gold leaf birthday
Two tiers of vanilla sponge, pastel macarons and edible gold.
Black and gold drip
Chocolate drip, gold leaf and whatever the birthday person actually drinks.
More of my work lives on Instagram and Facebook Marketplace — that’s where most people first find me.
A four-tier wedding, or one small cake for two people
I bake for the big set-piece days and the quiet ones. Nothing is too small to be worth doing properly.
Four steps, no shop counter
Most orders start with a message on Instagram or Facebook. Here’s what happens after that.
Tell me about the day
The date, how many people, and any photos that caught your eye. A rough idea is plenty.
Sketch and quote
I come back with a design, flavour options and a firm price. Nothing is booked until you’re happy.
I bake the day before
Sponges go in the oven the morning before collection, then everything is piped fresh.
Collect in the central city
Pick-up from Christchurch central, boxed and ready. Local drop-off can be arranged for tiered cakes.
One baker, one oven, in Christchurch
Custom Cakes is me, working from a small home kitchen in the central city. I started baking for family birthdays, put a few photos on Facebook Marketplace, and haven’t stopped since.
Because it’s just me, you deal with the person who bakes your cake from the first message to the moment you carry it out the door.
“She took one photo I’d saved and made something better than it. Half the guests asked who baked it.”
“I asked for a small cake for six people and got the same care a wedding cake would get.”
Tell me about your cake
Fill this in and I’ll reply within a day, usually the same evening. If your date is full I’ll say so honestly.
Thank you — your enquiry is with me
I’ll come back to you within a day. If it’s urgent, message me on Instagram or email customcakes@gmail.com.
